Debbie completed a Masters of Speech Language Therapy Practice from the University of Auckland in 2006. She has extensive experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist in New Zealand and the United Kingdom with children and young people aged 0-21 years. Her experience has included working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex communication difficulties, language delay and disorder, speech sound difficulties as well as providing training and support for parents, teachers and other professionals around speech, language and communication.
Debbie is passionate about creating equitable learning environments for children who face speech, language or communication difficulties and values taking a holistic and preventative approach to working with children whose difficulties can be expressed through challenging behaviour.
These interests led Debbie to return home to New Zealand in 2016 and complete a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Early Childhood Education. She is now gaining experience and enjoying working as an Early Childhood Teacher in addition to her work with Auckland Speech Therapy.
