Kate graduated from Massey University with a bachelor in Speech and Language Therapy in 2013. She has experience working with a wide range of adults and children with various communication needs. Kate began her career in New Zealand, where she worked with individuals with complex communication needs developing specialist skills in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), .
Kate then moved to London, England, where she worked primarily with preschool and school aged children with a wide range of communication needs including language difficulties, Autism Spectrum disorder, speech sound delays, Down Syndrome and complex communication needs. Kate works closely with families and paraprofessionals to ensure communication goals are being supported. During her time in the UK, Kate formally trained in Attention Autism and the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme. She also has extensive experience with the Hanen approach and Parent - Child interaction strategies.
Kate is positive and passionate about her work and believes that working closely with families and other professionals is the key to developing successful communication skills.
